
Hanna Salmon
Hanna Salmon is a musician, storyteller, and ethnomusicologist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She has trained as a classical pianist (B.M. Classical Piano Performance, 2017) and received her PhD in Ethnomusicology with a specialization in Middle Eastern music and storytelling in 2025. She has experience performing as a piano soloist and accompanist in classical, sacred, theater, and popular music. She also performs as a vocalist and oudist (Middle Eastern lute) in Austin’s Middle Eastern and fusion music scenes, and frequently collaborates with storytellers as a musician at storytelling festivals in North America, Europe, and the Middle East. She is currently an adjunct professor of music at Austin Community College and Our Lady of the Lake University. As a piano and voice teacher, she loves working with students of all ages to develop practical skills and a sense of musicality that can be transferred to any instrument or creative project.
